Random Things I Learned at HHI - Part 1

sprouting house
A big part of the HHI experience is learning.  There are lectures galore throughout the 3 weeks including growing and sprouting your own living foods, wheatgrass instruction, meditation, lymph massage, kitchen techniques, health and healing, aromatherapy, ancient and current self help techniques, food combining, taking it all home, questions and answers, yoga, practical living, detox and elimination, bounce, and on and on...
The first week was crazy busy with orientations and regular classes.  The second and third weeks were a little less hectic... but most days, except Saturdays and Sundays, were jam packed.

Some random useful things I learned as follows:

wheatgrass sprouts
* Don't cook with an iron skillet.  We may need iron but I was getting too much and not the right kind of iron.  Cook in stainless steel.  You should never take synthetic iron, only plant iron (wheatgrass!).

* Do NOT cook with oils!  Heated oils become carcinogenic challenges to our body!!!  You may add oils after food has cooked but never cook food in oils (including sauté! including baking! including olive oil!).  No heating oils period exclamation!

clover, radish, and broccoli sprouts
* Sugar feeds cancer!

* Only 5% of cancers are inherited.

* Don't use vinegar.  Vinegar impedes digestion and is a sugar!  Balsamic vinegars are sugar!

* Broccoli sprouts are 48 times stronger at reducing and preventing cancer than conventional cancer treatments.  Onion, garlic, and cabbage sprouts are even better!

* Never get a root canal!

sunflower sprouts
* Sunflower sprouts are a COMPLETE PROTEIN.

* Between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m. the body is cleansing!  Your body doesn't really want to eat again unti l1 a.m.  Avoid or minimize consuming solid foods during this time of day.  Wheatgrass and green juices are good.

* No aluminum foil on your food, ever!  Not even for baking!

* Do not use nutritional yeast.  It feeds cancer and candida.

* Most Americans are dehydrated with many being chronically dehydrated.  We should be drinking a minimum of half our body weight in ounces.  For example, a 100 pound person should be drinking 50 ounces of fluids every day (water!).  If exercising, etc. that number goes up!

* Taking a flight from New York to LA is equivalent to getting 18 x-rays.  And that doesn't include the security check.  Recommendation...?  If you fly, consider a bioshield.

* There are 230 grams of cholesterol in an egg.  The only animal that can digest eggs is a fox.

* Cashews and peanuts have a fungus that is a carcinogen.  They are not part of the HHI program.

* Neither black beans or soy beans are part of the HHI program.  Anyone want some black beans...?

* Agave nectar is no better than any other sugar, even though they claim to be.  Anyone want any agave nectar....?

* Publix grocery stores irradiate all food except organic.  This is probably true for others.

* If you're not health challenged and you're interested in eating sugars... Eat fruit ripe!  Eating unripe fruit draws nutrients out of your body!
